Schütz Nordic is experiencing enormous demand

Schütz Nordic produces plastic tanks for industries within medicine, disinfection, chemicals, food and water treatment plants. The demand in recent weeks has been enormous and the employees work hard to produce and deliver to their customers throughout the Nordic region. The technical manager of the company, Andrè Skjerpen, has taken the time to answer some questions about how everyday life is at a socially critical packaging manufacturer these days.

Questions for you who keep the wheels going

What kind of skills / education is required in your job?
General technical competence. We work a lot with very advanced molding machines for plastics, robot expertise, general control systems within the industry.
Explain what makes your workplace play an important role especially these days.
We make and deliver packaging to the food and medicine industry, and we have customers who supply anitbac and other chemicals for disinfection.
How has your workday been in recent weeks compared to normal conditions?
Actually quite normally very hectic days. We have a little more pressure on us now, as we know that some of our customers need our packaging to work with infection control. In the factory, we already have strict routines with regard to infection control, but we have taken further measures.
What typical questions do you have to answer / What do you have to help with?
Technical issues, keeping production lines and factory running. I also spend some time planning what the technical team will prioritize of jobs. We have just invested 25 million in a new production line, so much of the focus is here now.
Can you tell us about a situation that has given you a good feeling?
I experience that every day! There can be big or small challenges here at the factory and everyone is always happy when we get things started or make some smart improvements.
Do you have any tips / advice that you think people should follow in these times?
Follow the advice and respect the advice set by the authorities. Also follow the rules set by your workplace. Come to work and do your best!
What would you say to others who are considering your career?
There will be a great need for people with professional competence in the future. There will be more robots to be controlled / maintained and the control systems will be more complicated. My everyday life is very exciting and I look forward to going to work every day. So there is nothing to wonder about!
What is the best thing about working / living in the Kongsvinger region?
The region is very well located. Short way to most things. I have a safe job to go to, good and safe growing up opportunities. City and built in the same package!
