November Boost – Together for growth in Kongsvinger
Originating in a joint collaboration at the Innlandet Science Park in Kongsvinger, actors from 7sterke, The University Center in Kongsvinger (HIK) og Inland Science Park have joined forces to give the region's residents an overview of both academic and social top-ups now in November.
November Boost is based on the Knowledge Conference on 13 November, organized by HIK, and 7sterkes Industriforum on 21 November. Between the conferences, the week is filled with exciting events and activities for different target groups, organized by different players in the region. Both conferences are open to the general public and provide good opportunities to get to know the region's business life better and to gain professional inspiration from well-known and new names with a high level of expertise in the programmes.
- We hear all too often that nothing is happening in the region and want to show that that is far from true, says Kristin Gressberg at HIK. - With a simple search and a couple of phone calls, we found that there is a lot going on in November as well, and there should be something for everyone on the programme! November Boost is the result of the desire to show that our city has a lot of exciting things to offer everyone.
The Knowledge Conference and Industry Forum
Emma Vestli, also at HIK, has worked on this year's program at The knowledge conference with themes such as technology, social development, entrepreneurship and sustainability.
- The knowledge conference is free for participants, but if you want a place you have to be quick, because there are few tickets left, says Vestli.
- I am especially looking forward to the session with Lise Fulland and Deqa Abukar, which is about how to build up, find and invest in entrepreneurs outside the Oslo basin. Lise is originally from Kongsvinger, so it's really fun to be able to highlight her at our conference. In addition, it will be exciting to hear pink blogger Sunniva Rose, with a doctorate in nuclear physics, who will give us insight and facts about nuclear power.
As in previous years, 7sterkes will be organised Industry Forum also in the autumn, and gathers many representatives from the region's business community for the conference.
- But you must not be intimidated by the name. 7sterke was originally only for industry and we are still working to strengthen the region's industry, but already in 2016 it was opened up to member companies in other businesses. When we gather on such occasions, there are just as many representatives from other types of companies, says Helga Helland in 7sterke.
- We want to see representatives from all sides of the region at the conference. 7sterke therefore offers its own seats for full-time students and discounted tickets for pensioners. On this year's agenda we find well-known mediators such as Dag O. Hessen and Petter Gulli, and we want to build a common pride for everything we succeed in our region and bring out the good conditions we actually have!
A joint program for joint growth
The university center and 7sterke have had a good collaboration to strengthen the region's business life for many years, and 2024 marks a new milestone after moving into Innlandet Science Park Kongsvinger (InSP) this spring. With a joint arena, the already good cooperation between the actors is even stronger, and gives room to develop more good ideas together.
- The list of activities also includes events that may be of interest to the city's students and young adults. We want them to enjoy themselves so much that they will stay and be employed locally in the future, says Gressberg.
November Boost provides opportunities for professional replenishment and networking, and contributes to pride and visibility for the region's residents.
- We hope that many will find something interesting in the programme, and that the events can help to create new insights, build relationships and give the whole region a positive "boost" in the autumn darkness, concludes Vestli.
