Scattered housing and cottage construction is permitted in hamlets with permanent settlements, unless it conflicts with soil conservation, consideration of the cultural landscape or within flood-prone areas. Subdivision of farm land for residential purposes for small and medium-sized uses is permitted in the good agricultural areas when the remaining area is sold as additional land to active users, and the sale leads to a good operational solution.

Residential construction in the LNF area:

Åsnes municipality wants to be able to allow dispersed housing construction in parts of the LNF areas, preferably in the form of densification of existing hamlets. But instead of specifying special LNF b areas, one wants to manage these building applications through dispensation applications according to the guidelines in the planning provisions of the area section of the municipal plan, "Establishment of new housing located in LNF areas".
